About Emily A born advocate who is ready to take her common sense, negotiating, problem solving skills to city hall and fight for all of you.

Emily is a fourth generation Texan. Her mother was born in Lamesa, Texas, her father was born in a town called Donna, in the Rio Grande Valley.

When her parents were in school, they traveled the country picking crops to help support their families. They graduated from high school, started a family, and graduated from college.

Emily’s parents instilled the values we all share as Americans; the values of faith, family, hard work and the value of a solid education.

Emily graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Political Science.

Emily is a graduate of the St. Mary’s University School of Law. After graduating from law school, Emily accepted a prestigious clerkship and served as a Briefing Attorney at the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin, Texas. Later Emily served as an Assistant District Attorney with the Harris County District Attorney’s office and has had her own private law practice since 2001.

Emily is a well-respected lawyer and has gained a reputation as a tenacious litigator who is not afraid to fight for her clients.

Emily teaches all over the Country, teaching other lawyers how to be better people and better lawyers. It is important for Emily to give back to the legal community to try and level the playing field so that EVERYONE gets a fair shot, in a court of law.

Emily is proud of all of her accomplishments, however, the most important job Emily has ever and will ever have is being a mother to her two children, the lights of her life: Danielle (16) and Richard (13).

Emily wants to make Houston the best city to live in not just for her children, but for all Houstonians.
